Love salmon! Love oranges! Why not put them together and make a dish. Well, I have tried orange sauce with a lot of fish and have realized that orange goes great with fish. But please be choosy about the fish.. Anything and everything doesn’t fit the bill.. You cannot prepare a sauce and pour over anything to create a dish.. Even if it is simple relaxed and home cooking.. There are some rules to follow

What we need?

For the fish

1. 2 fillet of salmon, scaled removed and washed.

2. Salt to taste

3. 1 tea spoon Black pepper

4. Pinch red chilli powder

5. 1/2 tea spoon orange juice

6. 1/2 tea spoon lemon juice

For the sauce

1. 1/2 cup orange juice

2. 2 table spoon lemon juice

3.zest of an orange.

4. Zest of 1/2 lemon

5. 3 table spoons of softened butter

6. 1 tea spoon black pepper

7. Salt to taste

8. 1 table spoon sugar

9. 1/2 tea spoon brown sugar

10. Red chili powder ( if you want it spicy)

11. 1/2 cup water

What next? Let’s get cooking

Wash the fish fillet, pat dry with a kitchen towel. Marinate with salt, black pepper, red chilli powder, orange juice and lemon juice. Keep aside for 30 minutes. Fry the fish on both sides till they start to brown.

Place the fish in an oven safe dish and cover with a foil. Let it cook for 20 minutes at 325 degrees  or till the internal temperature is 145F

For the sauce

Boil water and orange juice together. Add the lemon juice, zest of orange and lemon, butter, salt, pepper and red chilli powder. Sugar and brown sugar.  Let the mixture boil until reduced to 1/4th.

All set!

Once the salmon is out of the oven and pour the sauce and serve.. Receive the complements 😊
